JASON KASK
Jason has been involved in endurance sport his entire life. Beginning this journey at ski, rowing and running races with his family he grew up to compete in swimming, cross country running, track and field, cross-country skiing, biathlon, rowing, triathlon, and sailing. This diverse sporting background gives him a unique perspective on your sport and fitness goals.
While racing at the College of St. Scholastica as a runner and cross-country skier he earned a degree in exercise physiology. He went on to complete his master’s degree at the University of Minnesota in Applied Kinesiology, specializing in sport and exercise science.
In addition to owning and operating Superior Performance since 2009, he has worked for USA Triathlon's high-performance department. There he helped prepare athletes for the London Olympic Games. He also served as the physiologist for the U.S. Paralympics Nordic Ski Team, coaching at two paralympic games, and worked with the USA Paratriathlon Team.
Jason is a certified coach through the United States Ski and Snowboard Association and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).

Studied Exercise Science at University Wisconsin – LaCrosse and Sports Nutrition Food and Nutrition from University of Utah.
Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics --- Certified Health & Fitness Expert with American College of Sports Medicine.
Her husband grew up along the north shore of MN, and they always wanted to return. After 15 years of living, playing, working in Alaska, Utah, and Arizona – they settled into Duluth last fall. They have two youngsters, ages six and four.
During her years in UT and Alaska -- she worked with US Olympic Speed Skaters, Cross-Country Skiers during the 2002 & 2006 Games; athletes competing in ultra distance events across Alaska; the Alaska Triathlon Team; long-distance canoe racers, first time marathoners, and fitness gurus of all shapes & speeds.
She is personally invested in competitive events & adventures. Janelle, a Boston-qualified marathon runner, competed in 70.3 triathlons, ultra distance trail races, and more. She loves learning about new races, pursuits, and adventures.
Janelle has studied the science, participated in multiple training programs; and learned from the best. She can plan your training meals, strategize fuel on race day, solve digestive issues, and help you achieve your training and competition goals.
Katie Kask, DPT
Katie has a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Minnesota and is a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist.
She is an avid runner, biker, and Nordic skier and has participated in multiple marathons and ski races. Since moving to Duluth in 2016, she has fallen in love with trail running which allows for a perfect blend of exploration, exercise, and immersion in Mother Nature.
Professionally, Katie enjoys helping athletes of all levels recover from injury and return to their sport. She uses evidence-based techniques to reduce pain and restore function. She is a life-long learner and continues to be fascinated by the resilience of the human body.
